Celebrating life
For the past 30 years, Rachel Neutzling of St. Cloud has been engaging in the fight against lupus. She sees every day as a blessing and truly lives life to the fullest, but for her, that 30-year mark was really something to celebrate. This is her remarkable story.
Neutzling was diagnosed at the age of nine on December 28, 1983. She had been experiencing high fevers, severe weight loss, dizziness, and rashes. Originally, doctors thought that she might have Scarlet fever. However, after a reaction to a medication landed her in the hospital, a team of puzzled medical professionals decided to test her for lupus.

Healthcare law enrollment now extended to December 23 for coverage starting January 1
Starting in January, most U.S. Citizens and legal residents are required to have health insurance. If you are already covered by private insurance, you likely can keep what you have, if it meets eligibility standards under the new health care law, or change to a plan of your choice that does. If you have been previously uninsured, or wish to switch or 'shop' for plans, you can access the availability and cost of various programs available under new insurance exchanges.

2013 Lupus Ambassador Chris Cronick

In search Lupus Ambassadors for 2014
This volunteer position serves to provide a "face" to lupus -- lending your story to Foundation events, especially the Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Run events -- and connects with others to help fundraise and raise awareness of lupus and LFM. You maybe saw 2013 Lupus Ambassador Chris Cronick this past year, as she attended the Walk/5K events, did some blogging and other volunteer duties for LFM. It's a rewarding experience for you, while helping promote lupus awareness and fundraising. Opportunities exist for ambassadors outside of the metro area as well.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more or wishes to be considered for this role, please complete the volunteer application and return it to LFM by January 6, along with a brief statement about why you'd be a good Lupus Ambassador.
