85 Attend SNEC Elders Retreat

More than 85 church elders and aspiring elders attended the Southern New England Conference (SNEC) Elders Retreat April 21-23 at Camp Winnekeg in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. The men and women who attended received instruction on how to manage the challenges and expectations associated with serving a local church as an elder.

"Agents of Influence," was the theme and focus of presentations by SNEC Ministerial/Evangelism director, John Amoah; SNEC president, David Dennis; and SNEC pastor, Kenroy Malcom, who serves in the Brockton, Mass./Lincoln, R.I. area.

Queens Adventist Community Services Center Assists Ecuador Earthquake Victims  
 
Volunteers pack supplies in preparation for shipment to Ecuador earthquake victims.

Organizers and volunteers from the Adventist Community Services of the Queens Spanish church have sent more than nine tons of emergency supplies to the victims of the  massive earthquake in Ecuador.

Water, dry food, and medicine were collected from the surrounding New York community of Corona, Queens, via donations.

Crowds Arrive to Receive Free Healthcare in Los Angeles

Your Best Pathway to Health is offering $30 million of free health care, including medical, surgeries, vision, dental, and other services, to thousands in Los Angeles, California, until Friday, April 8. Thousands of  people have been assisted since the mega-sized mobile clinic opened on Wednesday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Your Best Pathway to Health is a non-profit ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. More than 4,000 volunteers including 2,500 medical professionals are assisting in Los Angeles. A similar mobile clinic was established in San Antonio, Texas, weeks before the 60th General Conference Session convened in the city in 2015. This year, in addition to the medical services, people are also receiving clothing and shoes.
