More Than 400 Attends NNEC Music Clinic

"Battle Hymn of the Republic," played by the students at the 2016 Northern New England Conference Music Clinic.
Northern New England Conference (NNEC) recently held its annual Music Clinic on the campus of Pine Tree Academy (PTA) in Freeport, Maine. More than 400 students, chaperones, and staff attended the event March 31-April 2.

This year's theme, "The Good Fight," was taken from 1 Timothy 6:11, 12. Rick Kuntz, pastor of the Auburn church in Auburn, Maine, and NNEC evangelist, was the guest speaker for the weekend. Five clinics were offered: piano, choir, band, youth choir, and strings. The students showcased their hard work during a Friday night vespers concert, Sabbath during the worship service, and again in a concert later that evening.

Being Accountable for Our Children
"Child abuse is often a patterned behavior that takes place over a period of time. The longer the abuse is perpetuated, the more severe the injury. Abuse can occur in varying ways, yet each avenue possesses similar warning signs," says Hunter Pettis, account executive for Adventist Risk Management, Inc. (ARM).

Pettis also asserts that churches need to be more proactive in talking to, helping, and protecting our children so our churches can be safer for them.
