Bible Workers Needed for Compassion Boston Evangelistic Initiative
It is Written evangelistic series taking place in the Boston area in October as a part of the Compassion Boston initiative. It Is Written has begun the first of many mailings to area homes offering Bible studies. More than 100 responses have already been received from individuals requesting the studies.

To meet the growing need, four Bible workers have been hired by the Southern New England Conference, and It Is Written has asked Jack Phillips to oversee the Bible work for the Compassion Boston evangelistic initiative. More workers are needed.

Free training sessions are being offered in partnership with the NETS Evangelism Center to prepare volunteers to interact with people and give Bible studies. Sixty volunteers signed up for the first weekend session that took place last month at Boston's Berea church.

Additional training sessions are scheduled for April 15-17 at the Cambridge church, in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and May 27-29 at the Ephesus Haitian church in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

A pair of Vancouver, Washington, coffee house workers, have demonstrated compassion and kindness in an unexpected way.

Pierce Dunn and Evan Freeman, gave a grieving drive-thru customer a free drink then prayed with her when they learned that her husband died a few days earlier. Another customer, Barbara Danner, was waiting in the drive-thru line when she saw what was happening, snapped a picture, and posted it on Facebook.
