Flyer for Feb meeting 2013
Saturday February 9th
CFDW Meeting

Greetings!

On Monday President Barack Obama was sworn into office for his second term. This was an exciting and thrilling event. You helped make it happen! We all can be very proud of the hard work we did to get our President re-elected and to keep Connecticut a true blue State.

Of course we always still have work to do. The Republicans have not stopped their war on women. Our meetings and events from now through May will focus on this so that we may be prepared to keep up the good fight. Please join us at our meetings and gatherings to continue our political work. Our February meeting will be great information about domestic violence and is hosted by the Cheshire FDW.

Upcoming Meetings and Events

The Permanent Commission on the Status of Women will hold their Women's Day at the Capitol on March 13th. The CT Federation of Democratic Women will be participating in the event. This year's Women's Day at the Capitol will celebrate and reflect upon 40 years of the PCSW, which was founded in 1973. Come and learn about both the progress PCSW has made and the challenges that lie ahead for women in Connecticut. For more information, see their January newsletter: PCSW January newsletter

The March CFDW meeting is on Thursday March 14th at 6:30 pm and will be held at Democratic State Central office in Hartford. Our topic of discussion is how we can assist Democratic women to run for local elections. More details to follow.

On April 4th, there will be a program in Norwich on Domestic Violence hosted by Hadassah American Affairs, the Rose Conrad Fund and Safe Futures (formerly Southeastern CT Women's Center). The CFDW is involved with the program as well.

"Women in Blue" Day will be in April (exact date to be announced). CFDW members will go to the Capitol to meet with our legislators and discuss issues important to us as Democratic women.

Save the date of May 4th for our convention!
We made a difference on Nov 6th, we can continue to make a difference in our futures ~

Hope to see you at our events and meetings ~
