Fannie Dixon Welch Scholarship

To honor our founding president's memory, each year the Fannie Dixon Welch Scholarship is granted to an outstanding female student who, while enrolled in the University of Connecticut and majoring in Political Science and/or International Relations, excels in her studies.  This award is made on the basis of character, citizenship, and the promise of leadership in the field of government.  This year's recipient will receive $500 cash award on June 16th at the luncheon following the forum.  Please join us at the luncheon to honor her achievements as a young Democratic woman.

Ella Grasso Recognition Dinner
was a great night

On April 21st, we honored Ana Gould at our Ella Grasso Recognition Dinner in East Hartford.  It was a grand night as you can see by the pictures below. We had numerous dignitaries, including Congressman John Larson and Congressman Chris Murphy. Melody Currey, Commissioner DMV,  spoke of the many campaigns she and Ana worked on over the years and informed us about the improvements in DMV.

News of Regionalization

The Groton Club has changed their by-laws to become a regional club as opposed to a single town club with associate memberships from other towns. By changing their name to Southeastern CT FDW, it has already become more inviting for Democratic women from surrounding towns to get involved. They now have Democratic women from Stonington, New London, Montville, Ledyard, Norwich, North Stonington and Waterford who have become members.
We can make a difference this election.
We need to work together to get women to vote.
See you on June 16th~
