Pro Staff Field Report,

American Tackle Pro Staff Member Mark Newcombe and his team at

Lake Macdonald, Australia for the Hobie ABT Kayak Event

American Tackle Pro Staff member Mark Newcombe from Australia, joined his fellow Pro Staffers, Marne Prinsloo and Ben Davidson to pre-fish for the Lake Macdonald Hobie ABT Kayak Event.  Fishing was tough for the day but they managed to find small schools dispersed throughout the area and landed a few very nice Bass on Marks Custom Bushido 6-12lb utilizing the MicroWave Line Control System.

The team continued fishing and landed many more fish that gave them confidence leading into the start of the event.

The Hobie Event began the following day and Mark and his team were very confident due the success from the previous day.  They started off with a fine bass early but the action slowed as the day wore on.

Fishing hard proved successful and Mark managed to land 3 decent fish and was able to fill his limit.  Unfortunately for Ben, he lost a few fish and was not able to fill his limit.  Mark placed 8th in his first event ever and was quite pleased with his success.  With his two fish, Ben finished a respectable 11th given the amount of participating anglers .

Mark stated about the event, "I was very pleased with the result.......we had a wonderful day on the water and can't wait for the next competition on Baroon dam in QLD."

Congratulations to Mark and his team!!  A great finish and many more to come!
