The "Riley Memorial Open Bass Tournament" recently concluded its 30th year to be noted as the oldest and largest annual event held in Michigan. Located on the Martiny Chain of Lakes in Central Michigan, it began in 1984 at "Riley's Resort", a family owned and operated fishing resort established in the early 1950's. The Open was created by Russ Riley and family, to honor 2 generations of Rileys who came before him and their commitment to the lakes, wildlife and conservation. In addition, this year honored the late Doug Hannon also known as "The Bass Professor", a special friend and contributor to angling around the world.

Cash payouts went to winners as well as angler's bags full of sponsor donated products and raffle tickets to each participant.

Along with many other sponsors, the MicroWave Line Control System participated with American Tackle and T. Allen Fishing Rods' sponsorships contributing rods featuring this award winning line guide system.

The event also saw Wave Spin's, Mike Paone host the Challenge by providing demonstrations to interested parties.

This event takes place every year, generously hosted by the Riley Family of Riley's Resort in central Michigan, USA.  All are welcome to participate with entries distributed by mid-July, but be aware this event is limited to 60 boats.
