Casting for Recovery
with the Hutchins

Jerry and Mary Hutchins are still hard at work! They continue to give selflessly to several noble causes by devoting their precious time and resources toward helping others. They recently built custom fly rods to outfit a Northwest CFR outing in Washington State.

This organization works with breast cancer survivors by teaching them how to fly fish for their physical as well as their spiritual and mental recovery.

Casting for Recovery was founded in 1996, with the principles that the natural world is a healing force and that cancer survivors deserve one weekend - free of charge and free of the stresses from medical treatment, home, or workplace - to experience something new and challenging while enjoying beautiful surroundings within an intimate, safe, and nurturing structure.

The Catch

The Hutchins provided CFR custom hand-made fly rods using quality American Tackle components and Matrix fly blanks. In 2012 alone more than three dozen in all and many more scheduled for 2013. American Tackle salutes the Hutchins for their efforts and thanks them for the opportunity to supply components for their projects.
