exhibits in First Chinese Trade Show:

CGC Expo

The CGC Expo is held in Weihai city, China, the largest fishing gear manufacturing base in the world and is responsible for producing 80% of the fishing tackle products in the world.  More than 600 fishing gear manufacturers are located in Weihai.  CGC Expo was born in 2008 in Weihai.  Furthermore, the Chinese domestic market demands are huge and in the past three years during the CGC Expo, numerous Chinese buyers from all over the country have visited the show, including wholesalers, retailers and fishing tackle shops.

American Tackle participated in its first Asian Tackle show exhibiting its sensational new MicroWave Line Control System. Buyer after buyer confirmed that the Microwave System is the best casting system ever invented. Many visitors to the booth took rods with the MicroWave Guide System and a conventional guide train and test casted both. All agreed the MicroWave was smoother, cast further with less effort. They will revolutionize the way we fish!

Company founder Joe Meehan and Asian Operations Manager Jessica Lee were busy from opening to closing. Many customers loved the titanium guides on display. The Titan guides with the all new HyperLite rings are less expensive than Fuji's SS/SiC guides. Titanium has been long associated with expensive rods but with AT's lower priced titanium, they can now be used on mid market rods without sacrificing quality. The Titan's are not only much lighter and more flexible than Stainless Steel,  they will never, ever corrode.

Company founder Joe Meehan stated, "We are making a big push into the China market and are committed to doing both the CGC and China Fish show every year and branding our product throughout Asia."

To Busy for many meeting at the Expo, Joe Meehan attended many meetings that took place at factories across Weihai, including

Ben Stein and Jennifer Coker field test with M'Ocean Grant'd for Tuna and Dolphin

On Saturday, October 20th, 2012, Ben Stein and Jennifer Coker joined Grant Gisondo with M'Ocean Grant'd fishing to target Blackfin Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo.  Grant specializes in offshore fishing and building offshore rods for tackle shops and personal use.  Grant has fished his entire life and ran a tuna charter in Long Island before deciding on moving to Palm Beach Gardens.

The crew fished with the ATX line of blanks along with Aluminum saltwater reel seats and Virtus SS guides.  They began the day at 6 a.m. sharp and began trolling at 300 ft for the early dolphin and tuna bite.  Jennifer was able to land her first ever pint size tuna and many bonita.  Grant and Ben landed a beautiful dolphin while Jennifer fought a strong wahoo.  After a 15 minute battle, Jennifers Wahoo pulled the hook and ended the battle in frustration.  The team did bring a Matrix fly rod on board just in case they came across a school of Dolphin or Tuna but the weather forced their early departure.
