Message from the Chair
Greetings!
Senator Michael Bennet is coming to Fort Collins tonight, and tomorrow Congressman Jared Polis will be in Loveland. Details are below, and we hope to see you there. By the way, we now have Bennet and Polis yard signs in our office at 606 S. Mason, along with signs for our other Dem candidates. So stop by and grab a sign or two!
Just a reminder, you have just over a week to purchase your reduced-priced early bird tickets to the Larimer Dems Annual Picnic on Saturday, September 10 from 4 to 7pm (324 Jackson Ave. Fort Collins). Please get your tickets here right now so you don't forget.
If you would like to volunteer for the picnic (setup, tear-down, check-in, grilling and bartending shifts, etc.), please email me at chair@larimerdems.org.
Thank you for supporting the Larimer Dems!

Legislative News
Ginal's Boost for CO Rural Medicine Goes Into Effect
HB16-1142, sponsored Rep. Joann Ginal, D-Fort Collins, creates a state income tax credit of up to $1,000 for rural Colorado health care professionals who teach, tutor or mentor graduate students seeking a medical degree at a Colorado university.
"Our state budget problems may force significant cuts to rural hospitals in the most underserved areas of the state," Rep. Ginal said. "By targeting medical professionals and their students in rural areas, my new law will create a pipeline for rural health care providers and help drive down the cost of health care in rural Colorado."
The new law is one of 155 going into effect Aug. 9th, the 90th day after the end of the 2016 legislative session.
