Message from the Chair
Greetings! Hope you had fun at New West Fest and were able to stop by and say hi to us at our booth. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out.
We are still looking for volunteers for the Larimer Dems Annual Picnic on Saturday, September 10 from 4 to 7pm. If you would like to volunteer for the picnic (setup, tear-down, check-in, grilling and bartending shifts, etc.), please email me at chair@larimerdems.org.
If you can't volunteer, you can still join us for great food, margaritas, live music, and special guest speakers at the home of Dian Sparling (324 Jackson Ave., Fort Collins). You can save $5 if you get your tickets now by clicking here.
Thank you for supporting the Larimer Dems!
James Thompson, Chair

Ginal's Boost for CO Rural Medicine Goes Into Effect
HB16-1142, sponsored Rep. Joann Ginal, D-Fort Collins, creates a state income tax credit of up to $1,000 for rural Colorado health care professionals who teach, tutor or mentor graduate students seeking a medical degree at a Colorado university.
"Our state budget problems may force significant cuts to rural hospitals in the most underserved areas of the state," Rep. Ginal said. "By targeting medical professionals and their students in rural areas, my new law will create a pipeline for rural health care providers and help drive down the cost of health care in rural Colorado."
The new law is one of 155 going into effect Aug. 9th, the 90th day after the end of the 2016 legislative session.
