Message from the Chair

Greetings!

Yet another legislative session has passed at the state capitol, and our own Democratic lawmakers yet again have put in months of hard work for the people of Colorado. You can see a review of their accomplishments below, like Senator Kefalas's bill to help Coloradans with disabilities secure employment, Representative Arndt's bill to allow farmers to lease water without giving up water rights, and Representative Ginal's bill to encourage health care providers to practice in rural areas.

Of course, there were plenty of missed opportunities this session. Among them are measures that would have bolstered our state budget, provided more funding for transportation, strengthened our climate action plan, and provided compassionate options for terminally ill patients. And as you may know, a plan to revamp our presidential selection system also failed to pass.

These missed opportunities provide us with yet another reason that we have to keep working to elect Democrats to the statehouse. This year, in addition to our current Dem legislators, we have a full slate of Dems running for Colorado General Assembly seats in Larimer County, including TJ Cole in SD-23, Adrian "Buzz" Sweeney in HD-49, and Jody Shadduck McNally in HD-51. You can find more information about all of our candidates at larimerdems.org, and we hope you'll do everything you can to help out.

Thank you for supporting the Larimer Dems!

James Thompson, Chair
