Message from the Chair

Greetings and Happy New Year!

2016 is finally here, and the deadline has passed for registering as a Democrat to participate in our March 1 caucus. While we are still finalizing locations for our caucuses, be sure to clear your calendar for that evening so you can have a say in choosing our Democratic presidential nominee.

This Saturday we are honored to have Congressman Xavier Becerra, Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, visit Fort Collins for the Hillary for America kickoff. Details about the event are below. You may remember that Rep. Becerra came to Northern Colorado in 2006 to knock on doors for Angie Paccione's campaign for Congress, so we welcome him back!

We're hoping that Hillary and Bernie (and even O'Malley) have more events in store for Larimer County, and we'll have all the details about those events right here in the newsletter.

Town Hall with Rep. Jeni Arndt, Rep. Joann Ginal, and Sen. John Kefalas

Please join Rep. Jeni Arndt, Rep. Joann Ginal, and Sen. John Kefalas for a town hall. This will be a discussion of the bills the legislators will be running in the coming session. This is a great opportunity for constituents to share their questions, comments and ideas with their state representative.

In Memoriam

Many longtime Larimer Dems may have heard that our friend Mark Shaffer passed away late last month. Mark, who most recently lived in Maryland, grew up in New Orleans and spent many years of his life in Colorado, where he practiced law, was a strong supporter of the Larimer Dems, and ran for House District 51 in Loveland in 2012. Thanks for all the wonderful memories, Mark. You will be missed.
