Message from the Secretary

After the Supreme Court's decision in the Hobby Lobby case, Andrew Romanoff said, "Five men made the wrong call for millions of women."

I couldn't agree more. Women's ability to access basic healthcare is under attack, yet again. My generation is once again fighting for the same basic rights that my mother's generation fought for and won decades ago. Health care and contraception aren't "women issues"; they are basic human rights issues, and they directly affect you, your partners, sisters, mothers and daughters.

I'm mad as hell, and you should be too.

I could vent my anger by writing messages such as this; by posting my opinion on Facebook; or by talking to my friends.

I'm not going to vent my anger; I'm going to turn my anger to motivation.

I am going to work my tail off--starting now--to ensure that we elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November. I'm going to make phone calls for campaigns. I'm going to knock doors for campaigns. I'm going to help register voters for campaigns. I'm going to recruit my friends and neighbors to join my efforts. I am going to do everything possible to turn out the "Beyoncé vote" because when women vote, Democrats win, and you should too. Click on the link in the quote below to see exactly what Fox News and the Republican Party think of independent women, and join me in volunteering for campaigns and electing Democrats this November.

--Anne Wilseck,

Proud Beyoncé Voter

"Hillary Clinton needs the single ladies vote. I call them ˜The Beyonce Voters" -- the single ladies. Obama won single ladies by 76% last time, and made up about a quarter of the electorate. They depend on government because they're not depending on their husbands. They need contraception, health care, and they love to talk about equal pay."

--Fox news host Jessie Waters
