Message from the Chair

I was present in Denver this week when the Honorable Betsy Markey announced her campaign to bring transparency and her special qualities of constituent service to the office of Colorado Treasurer. She promised to serve as a full time public servant and dedicate her tenure to safeguarding the tax dollars of Colorado residents. Betsy was joined by Congresswoman Degette, former Colorado State Treasurers Cary Kennedy and Gail Schoettler and many current Colorado state elected at her press conference. Please see the details for the kickoff event at Avo's on July 11th below.

CU Regent Joe Nugese announced his campaign to bring fair and honest voting regulations back to Colorado as your candidate for Secretary of State. Joe has visited Larimer many times in the last year while researching his campaign, and is now moving forward with the ideas and values that we've had a chance to share with him. This is your chance to stop the partisan and discriminatory practices of the current Colorado Secretary of State.

Broomfield Mayor Pat Quinn also announced for Colorado State Treasurer this week and former Senator Ken Gordon filed his campaign for Colorado SOS earlier this year.

--William Russell

"Colorado is a dynamic state on the cutting edge of innovation, and the treasurer's office should be no different."

--Betsy Markey

75th Barackfast:
Habitat for Humanity, a Breakfast and a Work Day
This will be our 75th Barackfast together. And this one will be special.
On Friday, June 28, in Rigden Farm, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, we'll help build a house for Habitat--actually, for a real person in need of a home. If you're interested, express your interest here: http://tinyurl.com/H4H-FC-June-28-2013. It should be fun, and rewarding, and a help to our community.
We are in cahoots with Foothills Unitarian Universalist Church on this one: expect some brilliant people who are still searching for exactly in what what they believe! They will fit in perfectly with you, me and us...and we'll do some seriously good work and laughing while we continue that search...
And then on Sunday, 30-June, we'll have our 75th Barackfast. All funds will go to our next Habitat Project. $1500 would mean they'd have to let us do it again; less than that and we have to negotiate.
Work Day Date & Time: Friday, June 28, 8:00 - 3:30 pm
Location: Rigden Farm, Fort Collins
Sign-up to build and more information: http://tinyurl.com/H4H-FC-June-28-2013.
Barackfast Date & Time: Sunday, June 30: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Location: Dan Shaner's home: 3401 Terryridge Road, Fort Collins
