Message from the Chair

I have three happy announcements about the expansion of the Democratic tent this week. The most important is that we will be celebrating the end of a very positive and enlightened Colorado legislative session with our Century Club on June 8th at the home of Jeni James Arndt. The reason that we have great public policy coming out of our Colorado legislature is because of dedicated Democratic activists like our Century Club members. See the early details for this fun event below, we'll send out more details as we finish our plans.

The other two announcements are national notes. I would to welcome Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chaffee to the Democratic Party. Governor Chaffee served as a Republican Senator from Rhode Island, left the Tea Party party in 2007, and has been serving his constituents as the nation's only independent Governor since his election in 2010. I would also like to dispel any rumors that Michelle Bachman is leaving her Congressional seat because she's worried about getting re-elected or under investigation for improper payments to a Republican state senator during her former presidential campaign. Considering the accuracy of her Revolutionary War geography and her extensive scientific research concerning the HPV vaccine, we'll just have to take her word on her reasons for quitting.
