Message from the Chair
I want to congratulate the Colorado state legislature upon the conclusion of a truly historic session. I want to thank our Larimer County Democratic team of Senator Kefalas, Representative Fischer and Representative Ginal for their hard work and late hours. We're proud of their contributions: common sense legislation to help our growing economy, the expansion of Colorado's educational opportunities and protecting the air and water of the wonderful place we call home. We're proud that this legislature and our Larimer County representatives took one more step towards equality for all this session and passed the civil unions bill.
This is an excellent time to write any or all of these legislators and thank them for their work. By working hard and working together, we all came out ahead. Colorado is focused on getting back to work, expanding health care for the uninsured and underinsured, addressing gun violence, promoting election reform, and embracing civil rights for all. This is an excellent time to pledge your talent, time and treasure to the success of the next session and the next legislature.
Please join us in celebrating the birthday of Congressman Jared Polis next Monday. The host committee includes nearly all of our Democratic Larimer County elected officials. You can join them on this large and enthusiastic committee or RSVP by contacting Kate. See the details below.
--William Russell
"Keeping a Democratic majority is critical for moving Colorado forward, so that a great education, a good-paying job, and a safe and healthy place to raise a family is something every Coloradan can achieve."
--Rep. Mark Ferrandino Speaker of the House State House of Representatives
