Message from the Chair

Thanks to all of the Larimer County Democratic elected, officers and delegates who showed up last Saturday and helped complete our 2013 Larimer County Democrats Reorganization. I hope everybody will take a moment to thank the outgoing officers who served so well through our historic 2012 victories and offer support to the new officers stepping up to organize for 2014. Please see the list of your 2013-2014 LCD officers and Colorado Democratic Party Central Committee delegates listed below. I'll see all of our delegation at the Marriott in Denver on March 2nd. The CDP will be sending out calls to our delegates and alternates soon.

Congressman Jared Polis and former Congresswoman Betsy Markey are kicking off the Larimer County Democrats fundraising season with an evening event on Saturday, February 23rd. We are lucky to have the help of these two exceptional representatives as we build our 2014 victories. Our best cooks have volunteered for this event, so click on our Actblue early registration link right now. Please RSVP here.

And the nominations for our annual awards are closing tomorrow at end of business. Please send us your recommendations for Lifetime Achievement Award. Send your idea for The Robin Murphy Davis Award in today. Remember the most instrumental volunteer you saw on the hustings this year and write me a note. We're trying to get our winners chosen well before the dinner prices rise on March 17th.

We will close the nominations at the end of business Friday, February 15
Robin Murphy Davis Award
This award honors a Larimer County Democrat whose efforts have made a material change in Larimer County Democratic political activities or successes. It is meant to honor an individual whose vision and demeanor has inspired many of us.
Volunteer of the Year
This award is to recognize those unsung heroes who give us all so much by providing tireless support, wide ranging contributions and playing all over the field.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Honoring decades of contributions to success in Larimer County Democratic politics.

Donations Needed for the Annual Dinner & Silent Auction!
To help our efforts, you can donate items of interest to your fellow democrats for the auction. We ask that you consider the following guidelines:
Items should have a retail value of at least $30.00.
Used items are acceptable if they are considered collectible or antique.

If you have several items of interest, but valued less than $30, consider creating a gift basket.
This is an especially great idea for an interesting book or small gift certificate.
To discuss your donation, contact officemanager@larimerdems.org

The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center of Colorado (The Center) is thrilled to announce the launch of Leadership through PRIDE, a leadership program in the Northern Colorado area. This program is for people who want to act as change agents for their community, who want to seize opportunities in order to improve the environment for LGBT people, who want to bring about greater awareness of the LGBT community and build bridges across communities.
The Center will recruit up to four individuals for the leadership program. This is an excellent opportunity for visionary people to learn how to implement their vision and create social change. Participants are required to carry-out a project that directly or indirectly contributes to the well-being of LGBT people in their community and allows them to use their social entrepreneur/leadership skills.
