Message from the Chair
The Canvass Board signed off on the 2012 General Election on Monday and the turnout in Larimer County set a new record. It's official, 181,866 voters cast ballots in Larimer County. The highest vote count of the county election was won by your President, 92,747. Remember those numbers when
you hear someone say that the President didn't command the loyalty or the numbers that he did in 2008. You can see the final results yourself at Larimer.org/elections. From my position on the Canvass Board, I witnessed many of the details of the count, and I think that the Larimer County Elections staff that ran this election deserves your thanks as well. The election was clean, the reports to the Board were detailed, and we saw that everyone that was a real voter got a chance to vote. Now if we can just convince them to vote for all the Democrats on their ballot.
We are holding a volunteer celebration at Cilantro Grill on Friday, November 30 to thank our all of our volunteers for their important part in this historic victory. We'll be serving some tacos, and beverages suitable for such a well deserved gesture of gratitude. Everyone, from every campaign, is welcome. See the details below when you've had enough turkey leftovers and RSVP so we order enough food...and beverages.
--William Russell

"When I come here and I look at all of you, what comes to mind
is not that you guys remind me of myself. It's that you are so
much better than I was, in so many ways. You're smarter, better
organized, and you're more effective. And so, I'm absolutely confident
that all of you are going to do just amazing
things with your lives."
--President Barack Obama
