King of Prussia District's NEW advertising campaign, IM KOP, was designed to create an identity for King of Prussia and create a sense of place. The bold and dynamic campaign highlights the FUN and BUSINESS aspects of this diverse community. A variety of scenes and phrases help define bustling King of Prussia!

NEW Marketing Piece For Hotel Guests
Hotel Keycard Highlights King of Prussia Amenities

 

On May 1, 2013 King of Prussia District introduced a new marketing piece at all King of Prussia hotels. The new Hotel Keycard is used by all King of Prussia hotels and given to each guest with their room key. The Hotel Keycard highlights VisitKOP.com and all of the retail, dining and attractions in King of Prussia available to hotel guests.

New Development & Investment In KOP

 

King of Prussia continues to see major development and investment throughout its major retail and business corridors. Development and renovation projects currently in progress include:

  • Children's Hospital of Philadelphia: Opening in 2014, this 120,000 sq. ft. speciality care center at The Village at Valley Forge will house more than 40 pediatric care specialists, pediatric imagining and an outpatient day surgery center. 
  • Target Shopping Center: Redevelopment of the Valley Forge Shopping Center including a new Target retail store and major facade renovations began in 2013 and are expected to be complete in 2014. 
  • Super Wawa & Chick-fil-A: Expected to open in fall 2013, the 4,800 sq. ft. Chick-fil-A and 6,000 sq. ft. Wawa will feature a gas station and will be located on DeKalb Pike in between Henderson Road and Town Center Road.

  • Facade Renovations at 600 W. DeKalb Pike Office Building: New signage, awnings, a modern entry canopy feature and paint will complete this update in summer 2013.
  • The Container Store: Construction began last week on the new, free-

  • Chili's: Renovations have begun on the restaurant at 739 W. DeKalb Pike, one of King of Prussia's busiest intersections. Work is expected to be complete in fall 2013. 
  • Shake Shack: Opening a freestanding location outside of The Plaza at the King of Prussia, this NYC & Philly favorite is sure to have a new fan base when it opens in late 2013.

  • The Village Mart Laundromat: New hi-tech laundromat featuring easy-pay will open at 520 Shoemaker Road in January 2014.  
  • Porcelanosa: A 7,150 sq. ft. high-end tile showroom is under construction at the corner of DeKalb Pike and Long Road. 
  • The Car Wash at Franklin Maps: Opening in summer 2013, this state-of-the-art, self service car wash even features a doggie wash for man's best friend!

New Commuter Shuttle Service Launches June 17, 2013

 

theconnector is an exciting new commuter shuttle bus service for King of Prussia business park employees, linking the King of Prussia business park to Regional Rail at the Norristown Transportation Center and Wayne Station during the AM and PM rush hours. The comfortable, 14-passenger shuttles have free Wi-Fi, bicycle racks and are ADA compliant.

For employees looking for an alternative to driving, theconnector is a viable, practical and affordable solution. 

 

Tickets are $1 per ride for employees and tenants at participating companies and $2 per ride for all other riders. Ten trip ticket booklets are available. Tickets can be purchased at:

KOP-BID Receives Planning Leadership Award
King of Prussia District Executive Director Eric Goldstein receives the 2013 Planning Leadership Award from GVF Executive Director Rob Henry (right) and GVF Board President Jeff Guzy (left).

 

The King of Prussia District was honored to receive GVF's 2013 Planning Leadership Award at their 2013 Annual Meeting May 2, 2013.

 

The award was presented to KOP-BID for the organization's leadership in advancing planning initiatives that support Transit Oriented Development and Travel Demand Management. 

 

Planning and transportation projects completed by or in development by KOP-BID include:

  • theconnector: a new commuter shuttle service linking the King of Prussia business park to Regional Rail. Service begins June 17, 2013.
  • connectKOP.com Website: New KOP, transportation-focused website launched in late April 2013.  
  • Norristown High Speed Line (NHSL) Feasibility Study: KOP-BID, with SEPTA & PennDOT funded a study to determine the viability of extending the NHSL into King of Prussia. Additional information about the project can be found at kingofprussiarail.com
  • Road Diet Study: In summer 2013, KOP-BID will release a Road Diet Study of Moore Road and First Avenue. The study looked at whether or not vehicular traffic operations would be hindered if the number of traffic lanes were reduced to provide room for sidewalks and bike lanes.   • Land Use & Zoning: KOP-BID is working with Upper Merion Township's planner and solicitor to revise the SM District and 202 commercial corridor to promote mixed-use development, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and to enhance the quality of future development through the use of architectural and land use design guidelines.
