Landscape Improvements Continue In 2013
KOP-BID Begins Project on Henderson Road
Henderson Road from Queen Drive to Saulin Boulevard is currently being expanded to add safe turning lanes and to ease congestion. The project is expected to be complete this summer. Once complete, this stretch of Henderson Road will have new sidewalks, crosswalks, a trailhead for the future Chester Valley Trail and landscaping!

KOP-BID, working with the Upper Merion Township Transportation Authority, will fund the landscape improvements along this stretch of roadway.The landscaping project will include a mix of native Pennsylvania shrubs, perennials, grasses and trees. KOP-BID is working with project engineer, Boles, Smyth Associates, Inc., and landscape architects, Menke and Menke.

New Developments In KOP
Retailers & The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Start Construction
King of Prussia continues to experience significant growth and investment in its retail, dining, hospitality and tourism sectors through major economic development projects. Only three months in, 2013 looks to be one of King of Prussia's busiest years for development. Current development projects include:
- Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP): Construction on the 100,000 sq. ft speciality care center will house more than 40 pediatric care specialists, pediatric imaging and an outpatient day surgery center. The project will begin later this year.

Construction underway at the Valley Forge Shopping Center. The site will be home to a new Target retail store in 2014.

- Container Store: The 24,000 sq. ft. freestanding retail store will be located on the parking lot adjacent to DeKalb Pike and The Court at the King of Prussia Mall. Construction is scheduled to begin this year and the store should open in early 2014.
- Porcelanosa: A 7,150 sq. ft. tile showroom is currently under construction at the corner of DeKalb Pike and Long Road.
- Redevelopment of 620 DeKalb Pike: Currently a gas station, this parcel will be transformed into a 2,500 sq. ft. restaurant and 4,200 sq. ft. retail structure.
- Super Wawa & Chick-fil-A: Currently under construction, the new 6,000 sq. ft. Super Wawa, featuring gas, and a 4,800 sq. ft. Chick-fil-A are expected to open in fall 2013.
- Target Shopping Center: Currently under construction, the redevelopment of the Valley Forge Shopping Center will feature a Target retail store, slated to open in 2014.
