KOP-BID honored 10 individuals and organizations for their contributions to the King of Prussia community throughout the past year.
The King of Prussia District Awards recognize leaders in the King of Prussia community, significant economic development projects in the hospitality, tourism, commercial office, retail and transportation sectors, as well as, community outreach.

2012 Award Recipients:
Leadership Award: Ronald G. Wagenmann for his exemplary leadership of Upper Merion Township for over 30 years.
Commercial Office Property Award: Brandywine Realty Trust for its investment in King of Prussia, converting almost all of its commercial holdings to Energy Star certified buildings.
Accepting for Brandywine Realty Trust: Stan Cichocki, Property Manager.
Economic Development Project Award: Valley Forge Casino Resort for its major investment in King of Prussia, creating more than 800 new jobs and providing a wonderful, new attraction.
Accepting for Valley Forge Casino Resort: Andrew Tod, Executive Vice President GF Management.
Economic Development Project Award: Renmatix for converting a formerly vacant King of Prussia property into a high-tech research facility, creating jobs and highlighting Pennsylvania's growth in the bio-fuel industry.
Accepting for Renmatix: Mark Schweiker, SVP and Former Pennsylvania Governor.
Hospitality Award: Sheraton Valley Forge for its major investment in King of Prussia, opening the newest hotel, creating more than 100 new jobs and adding 25,000 sq. ft. of much needed meeting space.
Accepting for Sheraton Valley Forge: Howard Wurzak, Owner, and Eric Davies, Executive Vice President & COO Wurzak Hotel Group.
Retailer of the Year Award: Wegmans for its multi-million dollar investment in King of Prussia, as well as creating more than 700 new jobs and making numerous charitable donations to the community.
Accepting for Wegmans: Kevin Lang, Store Manager.
Retailer of Year Award: Tilted Kilt for its investment in one of King of Prussia's oldest landmarks, rehabilitating a vacant retail space at King of Prussia's most visible intersection.
Accepting for Tilted Kilt: John Anderson, General Manager.
New in 2012, KOP-BID presented three Community Outreach Awards to organizations that, along with their dedicated employees, have made a positive impact on the community by giving back and donating their time.
Community Outreach Awards:
- Doubletree by Hilton Philadelphia/Valley Forge. Accepting: CARE Committee.
- Hersha Hospitality Trust (Holiday Inn Express & Suites King of Prussia and Hyatt Place Philadelphia/King of Prussia).
Accepting: Bill Walsh, VP of Asset Management. - True Action. Accepting: Sam Norpel, Group Director.
King of Prussia District also recognized Board Chairman, Richard W. Kubach Jr. with an award for his leadership and support during the organization's inaugural years.
