The grant will provide partial funding for a commuter transit shuttle service connecting the King of Prussia Business Park to Regional Rail at the Norristown Transportation Center and Wayne Station. KOP-BID partnered with Upper Merion Township on the application.
KOP-BID will partner with King of Prussia commercial property owners to complete funding for the shuttle. In addition, tickets will likely be sold, although the fare structure is still being determined.
The commuter transit shuttle is slated to start operations in spring 2013. The shuttle will be in service Monday-Friday during the morning and evening commute, providing an alternate option for King of Prussia's more than 57,000 employees who commute by vehicle each day.
KOP-BID will hire a private vendor to run the shuttle system. The shuttles will be branded vehicles with Wi-Fi access and bike racks.

From the Executive Director
Creating better connections to public transportation in King of Prussia is a high priority for the King of Prussia District. Despite being the largest center of employment in the Philadelphia suburban region, King of Prussia has surprisingly few options for those who wish to commute via public transit to work.
Read my latest blog post to learn about our plan for a commuter transit shuttle and how it will positively effect employees of the Business Park.
Sincerely,
Eric Goldstein, Executive Director
