Nearly 26 million children & adults in the US have diabetes. Another 79 million Americans have pre-diabetes & are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. You can reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by changing your diet, increasing physical activity & maintaining a healthy weight.

  

Who is at greater risk for developing type 2 diabetes?  

  • People with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and/or impaired fasting glucose (IFG) 
  • People over age 45
  • People with a family history of diabetes
  • People who are overweight
  • People who do not exercise regularly
  • People with low HDL cholesterol or high triglycerides, high blood pressure
  • Certain racial and ethnic groups (e.g., Non-Hispanic Blacks, Hispanic/Latino Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and American Indians and Alaska Natives)
  • Women who had gestational diabetes, or who have had a baby weighing 9 pounds or more at birth ADA Logo

 Do You Need To Lose Weight and Keep It Off?
The weight may be over. The Light Study is a unique medical research study evaluating an investigational medication for weight loss. If you're a man 45 or older, or a woman 50 or older, need to lose weight and have heart disease and/or type 2 diabetes with certain heart risk factors, you may qualify for the study - and may receive the investigational medication.

If you qualify and choose to participate, you will receive all study-related services at no charge including:
  • Doctor visits and laboratory services
  • Structured weight management program
  • Regular and convenient consultations with a certified health and fitness coach
  • Simple meal plans

If You Have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, You May Qualify For One of Our Research Studies

Smiling Group If you are 18 years of age or older, have type 1 or type 2 diabetes and have trouble controlling your blood sugar levels, you may qualify for one of our research studies to test investigational medications to treat type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

 

All qualified participants will receive study-medications and exams at no cost and be compensated for time and travel.

Hepatitis B Vaccine Study for Type 2 Diabetics
Rapid Medical Research is conducting a clinical research study for a hepatitis B vaccine in adults 20 years of age or older with type 2 diabetes.
 
This study will test how the body responds to a hepatitis B vaccine for adults with or without type 2 diabetes.
 
You may join this study if:
-you are 20 years of age or older
-have been diagnosed with diabetes within the past 5 years Seniors on bikes
-you have never had a hepatitis B vaccine
-you have never had a hepatitis B infection
 
Qualified participants will receive study vaccines and study-related exams at no cost. Compensation will be provided for time and travel. 

Meningitis Vaccine Trials (Ages 2-25)
Teens

Rapid Medical Research is looking for healthy volunteers, ages 2-25, to participate in a clinical research study for a Meningitis vaccine.

Qualified participants will receive study-related vaccines and exams at no cost and compensation for time and travel.
