In Risør we have had two regattas since Norwegian Open.

First we had the ultra-social Summer Regatta, with 9 Evolutions on the starting line.
The wind was very nice, 7-8 mps, but it increased rather rapidly. We sailed on fixed marks inshore, and had a long reach where it was quite demanding to handle the spinnaker, and most of the boats experienced a broach or two. But nothing was destroyed, and in the end ADDAM was the first boat to cross the finishing line, with SILVER FOX right behind.
But the real reason for having the Summer Regatta is the gathering of all 5.5 enthusiasts to an evening with good food and drink and stories and laughter. It was a great success, with more than 40 happy participants and a beautiful summer evening

Risør Wooden Boat Festival is arranged the first weekend of August every year, and one of the elements of the Festival is a regatta for Meter Boats. This year six 5.5's participated. The two races were arranged inshore on fixed marks, and as close as possible to the spectators. With a wind of 9-10 mps it was quite a sight.
The perpetual trophy of Risør Wooden Boat Festival was this year won by ADDAM, with Lise Nilsen as helmsman, but only after a real dogfight with DIVA and Karl Morten Knutsen.

Hankø Race Week was arranged the week after Norwegian Open in Risør, but only with 4 boats participated. The Race Week was won by Gavin McKinney in JOHN B, with Petter Fjeld and CLARK KENT second, and Craig Symonette in SILVERFOX third.
