60 years after the first participation with 5.5m boats in the Olympic Games, the Class gave those boats an opportunity to race, which have been and could have been participants in those Olympic days, between 1952 and 1968.
With the aim to activate many boats which normally do not race in International 5.5m regattas, in the end we had 15 boats from 7 Nations on the entry list, for the races on Lago di Como in early July.

Happy Paticipants |
Longest distance travelllers have been the French participants (FRA 19 & FRA 46) from La Bretagne and the Finnish Crew of FIN 46, coming all the way from Helsinki.
The races have been showing close competition, with varying wind conditions and changing rankings. In the end Anders Nordman and Crew of FIN 46 have been showing the most consistent and top results, being followed by GER 12 and FRA 46. Results, pictures and more info can be found on the International 5.5m Class website. For boat info visit our 5.5m Inventory website.

The Trophy goes to FIN 46 |
The owners and crews of the participating boats already plan to meet again in two years time, for another "Vintage 5.5m meeting", which is foreseen to take place on the Lake of Starnberg, in Bavaria.
For the next edition of the Vintage Yachting Games in 2016, the International Class is offering the participation to the Modern boats, provided we can have boats from a minimum of 6 different Nations, each Nation nominating 2-4 boats.
