Double Action

Given the short timing between the 2012 and the 2013 World Championships, preparations for both events are fully in process.

While the NRV is adding more boats benefiting from the Early Bird offer to its list of participants, the teams around Kim in the Netherlands and Gijs in Curacao are finalizing the information on container and hotel offers, which will be announced - and will then quickly have to be booked - shortly.

Gijs has sent in more impressions from Curacao waters, in order to make holiday and budget decisions for January 2013 easier:

AHO 3
AHO 3 "Red Robin" sailing into town
AHO 1 spi
AHO 1 "Shank" (the former NED 21) under spinnaker

AHO 1 winners
Happy faces all around - "Shank" winning its group in the Heineken Regatta

Back to the World Championship in 2012: We do have plans to make boats available to Crews wanting to race in Boltenhagen in September, but either not yet having a 5.5 of their own or not being able to transport due to distance, time or budget.

We do kindly ask to help find idle lying boats for these Crews, I do detail those searching below. Please do inform Antje and myself about boats which can be made available for charter.

Thank you for your support!

Yours,

Kaspar

Fleet News

Australia

The Australian Gold-Cup team will be chosen after the Australian Nationals in March. We are now looking for boats for our friends from downunder, both for the Gold Cup and for the Worlds.

Curaçao

With the Curacao plans for 2013 confirmed we are looking for a boat to possibly being chartered to a Curacao Crew, for one of the Cup Races and the Worlds.

Denmark

Craig Symonette has acted swiftly and already very kindly offered 5.5 BAH 20 to a Danish team, for the Gold-Cup.

Germany

With the intention to invite active regatta sailors of other Classes to our races, boats for the World Championship are searched to be given to these teams:

Team Faber & Münker
Team NRV
Team Biwi Reich

Great Britain

We would like to offer two teams of DARING sailors the opportunity to take part in the Gold-Cup respectively the Royal Kaag Classic Cup and the Worlds.

Italy

As we have recently not had the pleasure to see an Italian team race the Gold-Cup, we are looking for a Modern boat to be given to an Italian Crew.

Sweden

With a Swedish team from the KSSS racing the Gold-Cup in 2011, we do hope for a chance of a repeated participation in 2012, following the idea and generous support from Jussi last year.

USA & Canada

We are looking for a boat to be given to a North American team, of US and Canadian 5.5m sailors.
