NEWS FOR THE WEEK OF June 24, 2015
General Convention 2015
The deputation to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church from the Diocese of Lexington gathered in Bishop Hahns' room to get organized for the work ahead. Historically, resolutions, schedules and all pertinent information has been published in a large, weighty 'Blue book.' The 2015 General Convention is the first to provide IPads for deputies (discovered to be more economic than printing the Blue Book). The intense concentration shown here is focused on downloading the materials on personal devices!

Each deputy will report on a day in the life of a General Convention deputy. Canon Elise Johnstone's report on Tuesday's arrival day may be found by here.
Reading Camp Welcomes New Director
The Bishop and the board of Reading Camp are happy to announce the appointment of Sarah Harcourt Watts as Reading Camp Director, effective mid-July.

Sarah has taught elementary school for four years and also worked as a Research Associate for the Pluralism Project, a non-profit focused on religious diversity. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Religion from Transylvania University and a Master of Theological Studies in Religious Studies and Education from Harvard Divinity School. Sarah lives with her husband and daughter in Lexington, KY. She has a passion for working to improve the lives of children.

Multiple Reading Camps continue around the state through the summer months. We are grateful for the very good work of Reading Camp board and leaders during this time. We are especially grateful for the work of Office Manager Renae Stanger who has coordinated this work in the interim as well as directing the Lexington and Irvine Camps.
