Diocese of Lexington ECW Women's Weekend |
The Annual Women's Weekend of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington will again be held at the Cathedral Domain Camp and Conference Center, May 15-17 with an optional free day on May 14. The theme this year will be 'Celebrating Our Voices: From Mary's "Yes" to the words of Mary Magdalene, "I have seen the Lord,"' the voices of women in scripture offer witness to God's grace and love. We will explore the voices of women, using the groundbreaking book, "Bible Women: All Their Words and Why They Matter." These women of scripture will inspire and challenge us to find and free our own voices-and to celebrate them! We'll explore different ways of expression, from journaling and writing to singing, from creative endeavors to conversations. The program will be led by Richelle Thompson and her husband, the Rev. Jeff Queen. Richelle is the deputy director and managing editor of Forward Movement, publisher of Bible Women and the popular Forward Day by Day daily devotions. Fr. Jeff is the rector of St. Andrew's, Fort Thomas. He has chaired the stewardship initiative for the Diocese of Lexington and is an alternate deputy for General Convention. The book may be purchased in advance (not required) at the discounted rate of $15. Step into God's sacred circle of women: mothers, grandmothers, warriors, prophets, prostitutes, and murderers. You won't come out the same.
