Pre-Convention Assemblies

All who are voting at Diocesan Convention (clergy and deputies) should try to attend one of our Pre-Convention Assemblies.  The dates and places have been set in conjunction with the clergy and deputies in the region.  All are welcome, but if a clergy or deputy is unable to attend the pre-convention assembly for their region, they may attend another assembly.  Assemblies will inform upon nominations, resolutions, new deputy orientation, and an opportunity for fellowship.

The Diocesan Youth Community Rocks!
As the youth rang in 2015 at A New Year in the Spirit, they made sure that Reading Camp would rock for DioLex camps by providing books for Reading Campers. Campers will have copies of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Amelia Bedelia, Magic Tree House, Ramona and Junie B. Jones of their very own to take home after camp.

So, Diocesan Youth, Reading Campers THANK YOU!! and, hope you will think about being a counselor this summer!
Reading Camp Network 2015 Conference
A BIG thank you to NKY Reading Camp, Trinity Covington, conference presenters and the Reading Camp Board for making the Reading Camp annual network conference a success!

January 16-17, 40 Reading Camp directors and camp planners attended our network conference at Trinity Episcopal Church in Covington to offer and gain ideas for making 2015 Reading Camps SMASHING SUCCESSES! The theme, Reading Camp Boot Camp, focused on getting back to the basics of Reading Camp and preparing our directors, teachers, counselors and support staff to welcome Reading Campers this summer.

Beginning in June, Reading Camps will open from Colorado to Gulf Breeze Florida and lots of places in between. The Diocese of East Tennessee will hold its very first Reading Camp in Knoxville, June 8-12.

We are so grateful for the dedication and hard work of all of these folks who make sure that children who need Reading Camp in their communities will have one this summer!
