Stewardship Commission Continues Important Work |
Following the Diocesan convention, Bishop Hahn appointed a Stewardship Commission to be chaired by the Reverend Jeff Queen, rector of St. Andrews, Ft. Thomas, and Mr. Joe O'Brocta, member of Trinity, Covington and chair of the Diocesan finance committee. This commission , composed of lay and clergy from throughout the diocese, is tasked with exploring the stewardship life of our diocese and its impact on ministry. The work includes examining best stewardship practices around the church, and determining the effectiveness of our current diocesan fair mission share. Along with research and conversation within the commission, the work will include open meetings around the diocese to receive feedback on their work. The membership of this commission comes from every corner of the diocese, as well as every size parish in the diocese. Keep them in your prayers, pass on your thoughts to the chairs, and commend them along with all those, who give of their time, talents, and treasure to the life of our church.

What do you get when you put children, fun, adventure and creativity together? Our first Annual Story Mountain Event!
Mountains were used as a backdrop for many of the biblical stories: The Ark rested on the mountain of Ararat. The commandments were given on Mt. Sinai. Mount Zion was mentioned in Micah 4:1. In Exodus 19:20 the mountain top was a meeting place with God. Prophets and holy men went to the mountain top to die. The Transfiguration, described in Matthew 17:1-2, occurred on a mountain top, also. The Ascension of the Lord into heaven was described in Acts 1:9-11, and it happened on a mountain top.
Why are mountains so important in the Bible?
