Chris Somers Shares Social Media Tips in ABOVE Magazine
Traffic isn't typically something you look forward to unless you're a RE/MAX agent with a social media presense.
That is true for Chris and Stephanie Somers who have built a successful real estate career in part by generating traffic and turning it into opportunities and more importantly long standing relationships and life long clients.
Chris' advice: "Jump in, get involved and go where the people are. They're on Facebook; they're on Twitter. It's not that difficult to create a business page on Facebook. The trick is to keep it fresh - delegate as needed - so that it doesn't become stale."
Read more tips from Chris that just might include that tip or idea you've been looking for to get involved in social media whether personally or professionally. Would love to hear from you. Stop by our blog if you have any questions, thoughts or ideas to share when it comes to social media. |

A timeless Holiday Gift Idea for the Holiday
The holiday gift buying season is upon us in all of its commercialist splendor. I am pretty certain most of us will be spending our hard earned money on mass produced electronics, clothing, fruitcakes... you know the same old stuff you bought year in year out during the shopping season. These gift items are okay for some of the people on your gift list but you know as well as I know, these items will not last the test of time. Well, maybe the fruit cake will but in general the other gifts are short-lived.
This year I suggest you give the gift that lasts for generations. Give one special someone (or even yourself) the gift of Art. Original art. Paintings, collages, prints, drawings, glass, handcrafted furniture, sculpture, handmade jewelry, ceramics, the list goes on. Artwork is timeless and personal, and when thoughtfully placed for friends and family to admire, will actually transform a space on so many different levels.
Stephanie shares some great tips, advice and places to find art that meets your taste and budget. Read more here. |
Meet Your Neighbor
Meet Garden Hangouts & My New Best Friend Peter!
They say that "fences make for good neighbors", but bamboo brings another meaning to Robert Frost's quote. I love bamboo but there are two kinds of this beautiful plant: aggressive and less aggressive.
Well, we have a rental property with a nice backyard in Old Kensington. One of our ex-tenants thoughtfully (tongue in cheek) planted an aggressive species and it took over my yard as well as the neighbor's garden.
