From the President
Julie Briggs, CHRVA President
The spring issue of Digs is generally devoted to the annual Board of Directors election. This issue is no different. However, before I get into the election, I would like to reflect upon the passing of a person who was very special to me, but more important, extremely special to the Chesapeake Region. Anne Hughes was a member of and worked on behalf of CHRVA for approximately 37 years. It is so hard for me to imagine giving such a big part of my life to a sport that I never played, but Anne was a special and giving person. In fact, I would be hard-pressed to find a member who does not know who Anne is and doesn't have a story to tell.. Click here to keep reading ...

In Memoriam: Anne Hughes
As I reflect on the passing of a dear friend, I could think of no better words to describe what a wonderful, caring person Anne Mason Hughes was than the eulogy given by Anne's daughter, Mary Anne Creech, at the funeral on Friday, March 15 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, Virginia.
