The Washington Township High School Technology Education Department (grades 6-12) provides a state-of-the-art program in Design Technology and Pre-Engineering, Communication Technology, Construction and Materials Processing, and Electrical Technology and Robotics. These programs integrate academic knowledge with a Problem-Based-Learning methodology that supports critical thinking in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Technology Education program is recognized as a model/exemplary program and demonstration site for Technology Education in the State of New Jersey.
Rick Ambacher is currently in his 31st year of teaching at Washington Twp. High School in Sewell, NJ. He currently teaches Design and technical Presentation, Architectural Design Systems, Engineering Design Systems and a senior course titled Design Experience in Architecture and Engineering. Throughout his career Rick has taught everything from traditional woodshop and drafting to materials processing and the above mentioned courses. Rick has also been the South Jersey Rep for NJTEEA (formerly TEANJ) and is a past TEANJ teacher of the year as well as a Martinson Foundation Award winner and is currently a co-advisor for the high school's TSA chapter.
NJTEEA invites you to join us for a professional development workshop at Washington Twp. High School to view the technology education offerings and look at what's being done in the labs. CNC router and 3-D printing will be highlighted along with how these items can be used to enhance instruction with their inclusion in some interdisciplinary activities.
