Greetings!
NJTEEA invites you to join us for a professional development workshop at The Chatham High School to experience their curriculum and collaborate with Chatham High School teachers to see what other school districts in New Jersey have been doing regarding the iSTEM challenge and integrative technology.
The courses in Design and Media Technology are designed to prepare students for life in an increasingly technological society. The courses challenge students to create innovate technological designs, to solve problems, and to confront the ethical issues that arise from technology's use. Technology is the human quest for solutions to the problems that confront our global society As the ability to design and create tools of increasing complexity expands,so does our ability to control our environment. The Design and Media Technology courses are designed to prepare students to think creatively to ensure they will be prepared to continue to produce innovative designs in an increasingly technological world. Ours courses also prepare students to confront the societal issues that arise as new technologies are designed. We live in a technological age. The impact of technology on the individual, our society, and our environment is great. Society needs people who understand technological forces and are prepared to help manage them. Students in the Design and Media Technology Department study the historical development of technology and its impact, and then develop the problem solving techniques through the application of technology, design, communication, and technology system. Presenters Connor Henderson and Jason Mariano, a past Innovate Technology Educator Award winner, teach courses described above and have been outstanding members of the New Jersey Technology and Engineering Education Association. We highly encourage you to join us on MARCH 12, 2014!
See you there! |
