Greetings!
The Randolph Middle School team hopes that all of our families had relaxed, fun-filled summers. We'd like to extend a big welcome to all of our families as we begin an enriching and exciting new school year with your child.

We are thrilled to see so many new and returning faces - students and teachers alike - filling the classrooms with  contagious energy and enthusiasm. Our teachers and faculty members have been hard at work this summer preparing a rigorous and meaningful educational experience for your students. We have so many things to look forward to this month that we hope you will join us in attending.

We realize how important it is to be confident that your children are not only actively learning, but are also happy and safe. We can assure you that as a team at RMS, we will do everything we can to provide that safe environment and meaningful educational experience.

Welcome back everyone!
Back to School Nights

Grade 6 September 26, 2013, 6-8 pm
Grade 7 September 27, 6-8 pm
Grade 8 September 28, 6-8 pm

All back to school nights will begin in the auditorium where you will be given a basic overview by administration and team teachers. From there, you will be dismissed to your child's homeroom. Please anticipate joining us to the night's close at 8. Thank you.

Breakfast with the Principal
September 13, 2013
Join our principal in starting the school year through attendance of "breakfast with the principal." This will take place during school hours at 9 am. This is a time for you to voice concerns and ask questions to our administration. We look forward to having you in our school home.

Student Activity Fair
September 24 and 25
Students are encouraged to review our activity fair during their lunch periods on the 24th and 25th. Club advisors will hold the first meeting of their club in early October, and students who have interest are encouraged to attend. The displays will remain up for back to school nights so that you may recommend your student sign up for clubs that strike you as interesting as well.

Reminder!
Please be reminded to hand in appropriate documentation for your student during the first week of school. We will be asking for your emergency contact information, student health forms and Genesis registration. Should you need an additional copy, forms can be found on our district website under "important paperwork" or students may request additional copies from their homeroom teacher.

Wednesday, 9/5 7:00 pm Michael Fowlin's You Don't Know Me Until You Know Me,WMS auditorium

The Nominating Committee has been busy for several weeks now assembling a great group of volunteers to sit on next year's PTO board and to chair the 30+ committees. You'll find a complete update from the Nominating Committee later on in this issue, including a few key roles that remain open. There is also a volunteer form at the end of this newsletter so you can begin thinking about and volunteering for committees now. This form will be distributed as part of the summer mailing in August
as well.

To learn more about any of the PTO committees, please refer to the PTO Board Members and Committee Chairs web page. We hope you will seriously consider getting involved in next year's PTO as a committee chair or member! We'll be voting on the 2010-2011 PTO officers at our next PTO meeting which is Friday, May 14 at 9 a.m. Please join us for the final PTO meeting of the school year.

Linda Chow and Alyson Karpowicz, PTO Co-Presidents
We look forward to a fantastic year full of engaging school and community events. Thank you for your continuing support.
