Greetings!

Registration is now open for our Innovative Technology Educator Workshop #2: Autonomous Highway!

This workshop is on November 29th from 5-9pm at Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan.  It will include a full dinner.

This ITE workshop will showcase a project that combines basic electronic circuits, microcontroller use and programming with the BASIC language, and construction of a motorized vehicle. These vehicles will be equipped with distance sensors, and with a bit of simple code programmed into their PIC chip brains, will travel around a track responding to each other to avoid collisions. You can use one of the pre-built cars and focus on designig your own collision avoidance code, or come and try to construct and program your own from scratch. These vehicles are simple to build and the circuitry is based on easily available parts. The PIC chip used is very similar to Arduino, in that they are cheap and the programming software is free. We use the BASIC programming language because it is a high-level language, meaning it all reads out as english and is very forgiving. A great intro to microcontroller use in the classroom. There will be dinner and goodie bags for everyone!

We are looking forward to seeing you on November 29th!

Sincerely,
