Thank you for Giving Big to the Arts
Your donations on May 6th helped make history

On May 6, 2014 you helped make history as the region donated more than $3,000,000 to nonprofit organizations in Sacramento, Placer and Yolo Counties through the BIG Day of Giving, a 24 hour online giving challenge.

Thank you to all of you who gave.  It is your generosity that lifts the spirits of the arts leaders and helps the arts continue to thrive in our communities.  We are blown away at the outpouring of support that our community showed for the arts and the nonprofit sector as a whole.

Congratulations to all of the participating organizations! We want to recognize all of the hard work you put into your Big DOG campaigns.  Many of you planned for months, including getting up to speed on social media, and it showed. Almost 100 participating arts organizations raised over $860,000 collectively, more than double what arts organizations raised during the Arts Day of Giving last year.  Seventeen arts organizations also won over $37,000 in cash prizes.

Congratulations to KVIE for winning the Supervisor Peters Art Challenge ($2,500) and to the following organizations that won the SMAC arts prizes:

* Sacramento Ballet won the Donor Challenge Arts prize: $1,500
* Sacramento Guitar Society won the Double Dog Dare Arts prize: $500
* 916 Ink won the BIG DoG Vine Challenge Arts prize: $500
* Sacramento Children's Museum won the Share the Love Arts prize: $500
* Prolific Tweeter prize was a three-way tie:

Sacramento Children's Chorus - $250

Sacramento Mandarins - $250

Flying Monkey Productions - $250

* Sojourner Truth Multicultural Art Museum won the First Gift Arts prize: $1,500

* Sacramento Mandarins won the Play Time! prize: $1,000
* Sacramento Mandarins won the Morning Walk Arts prize: $1,000
* Sacramento Ballet won the Feeding Time Arts prize: $1,000
* The California Museum won the Evening Walk Arts prize: $1,000
* Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra won the Night Howl Arts prize: $1,000

We look forward to building on our collective fundraising success and to involving even more people in giving in the years to come.
