A Note From SMAC Exec. Director Shelly Willis

With the New Year, we bid a fond farewell and all the best to Barbara Bonebrake as she retires as the Director of the City of Sacramento's Convention, Culture and Leisure Department (CC&L).  Barbara has worked for the City of Sacramento for more than 40 years. Her list of accomplishments is long and her influence on our community - wide and deep. Throughout her tenure as the Director of CC&L she was an advocate for Sacramento's arts and cultural community by fostering some of Sacramento's most vital arts and cultural institutions. Barbara oversaw the work of the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. She has supported and worked for her staff and the community at large tirelessly, with integrity, dedication, grace, intelligence, and humor. I count myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity and privilege of working with her.
