Our culture and media continue to propagate myths about investing. Hope springs eternal. Because average citizens buy into these myths, they have far less at retirement than they could have had.
These myths are propagated because millions in the financial services industry rely upon the public buying into it - including the media.
There is also an excitement factor. It's exciting to think that you could "work harder, take a risk" and become a winner very quickly.
