A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated items to the  Bronson Children's Hospital Giving Tree. We were able to take a carload of things over to the hospital right before Christmas and they were much appreciated.

Five Things to Consider When Choosing Where to Receive A Massage

Since massage is a personal, hands-on service, not all massages are the same.

Not only do the practitioners differ in experience, expertise and style, but the spa itself can be very different. Many places are primarily beauty salons, focusing on hair, skin and nails. Massages are often just added to their menu.  Others are national franchises that often put speed and price ahead of customized, professional services. Then there are some spas that are totally focused on massage, treating it as an integral part of a total health and wellness program. So how to choose the right place for you? Here are five things to consider as you make your decision:

1. Purpose. Know what kind of massage you are looking for. Do you want a generic "relaxing massage" or are you looking for a more specialized, therapeutic treatment, such as sports massage, healing from an injury, or relief from headaches or other illness?

2. Value. Price is the dollar amount of the service.  Value is the overall experience - the atmosphere,  customer service, professionalism, follow up and sense of satisfaction and wellbeing that you feel after receiving a service.

3. Atmosphere. What kind of environment do you prefer? Do you appreciate peace and quiet, and enjoy relaxing before or after your service in a sunny solarium? Or is a room with a massage table all you need?

4. Location - For some people, a convenient location means everything. Others are willing to drive farther, even out of their way, to go to a really special place.

5. Reputation - The spa's reputation is composed of many factors, including longevity, experience, depth and breadth of staff, professionalism, customer satisfaction, ownership and variety of services. What is most important to you?

There are no "perfect" spas that are right for everyone. Choose the place that meets your needs.  A place where you feel valued, respected and appreciated; where you leave feeling healthy and positive. We thank you for choosing SolSpring.

Vision Board
Words from Bonnie Gildea
Growth

Out of our eight core values, Growth seemed appropriate to talk about this month. While nature seems at a standstill in terms of growth, we know that much is happening below the surface. That is true for many of us, as we are setting goals and making plans in our heads for the new year. For me, I like to make what is called  a "Vision Board." I create a collage of inspiring words, photos and images that represent what I want to see manifest in my life. Then I put my board in a place where I can look at every day. The theory is that our subconscious mind focuses on these images and helps us attract into our lives the very things we are seeking. I hope that 2013 is your happiest and healthiest year ever.
