The definitive Schengen Visa elimination, which exempts Peruvian and Colombian citizens from the need to apply for a tourist-visa to enter European territory, will "happen" during the second half of 2015, the European External Action Service Managing Director for the Americas Christian Leffler affirmed.

As result of a series of meetings and dialogue roundtables organized by the government, the Candarave province population (Peru's Southern Tacna region) will finally benefit from the infrastructure and irrigation works designed to be executed through a public-private partnership worth S/.290 million (about US$92 million).

Peru-focused explorer Tinka Resources will receive a C$4.5-million investment from World Bank Group member the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The Peruvian government's agenda consists of works constructed for the benefit of the population on the national sphere, President Ollanta Humala affirmed.

Education


Some 15,000 teachers will be hired by the Ministry of Education to assist the needs of public schools providing Intercultural Bilingual Education (EIB), in favor of 53 indigenous Peruvian communities, totaling over 1 million students.

The Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation Milton von Hesse said Peru's construction sector will increase by more than 8% in 2015 due to more optimistic business expectations.
"We maintain our growth projections above 8%, since business expectations concerning the construction sector and development of housing projects have changed significantly," he indicated after opening the 24th edition of ExpoMivivienda.

Flamengo says it has signed Peru striker Paolo Guerrero on a three-year contract.

The popular Brazilian club picked up the 31-year-old striker after he failed to get a contract extension with Corinthians, where he thrived in recent years. Corinthians is struggling financially and could not afford to pay the salaries being demanded by Guerrero.

Financial details of the deal with Flamengo were not immediately released.



Inquiries over alleged corruption offenses committed by FIFA officials will have an effect in Peru, since they are all linked to South America, Deputy Superintendent of Financial Intelligence Unit of Peru (UIF) Sergio Espinosa affirmed.

The Government of Bolivia has handed over businessmen Martin Belaunde Lossio to Peru at the Desaguadero border crossing in Puno region, from where he is being taken to Lima and brought to justice.
