The Republic of Peru, rated A3/BBB+/BBB+, has hired Bank of America Merrill Lynch, BBVA and Morgan Stanley to arrange a investor meetings in the US and Europe, according to a source close to the situation.

"This is definitely a non-deal roadshow," the same source said, indicating that the sovereign is not likely to issue international bonds following the meetings.

The roadshow will take place in San Francisco on October 27, Los Angeles and London on October 28, and Boston and New York on October 29.

Peru will invest nearly US$10bn in the construction of Lima metro lines No. 3 and 4, private investment promotion agency ProInversi�n forecast at BNamericas 5th South America Infrastructure Summit.

ProInversi�n recently awarded a pre-investment studies contract for line No. 3 and in coming months will launch pre-investment and feasibility studies for line No. 4.

Baron Oil has won approval from state-owned Perupetro to convert its third work phase from seismic into a drilling obligation.

The approval comes after the company made additional oil and gas shows at Block XXI onshore in Peru.

Lima�s Ministry of Education (MINEDU) has implemented a program, "Docentes Fortaleza" (Teaching Strength) to improve the quality of primary school teachers. According to the MINEDU press release, the mentor program will "provide educational support to more than 14,000 teachers to help them improve their teaching practices in the classroom".

Two South Korean training aircraft were presented to President Ollanta Humala on Tuesday at the Peruvian Air Force base in Las Palmas.  The training craft, the first of a fleet of 20, are part of an agreement with South Korea to begin co-production and transfer of technology in manufacturing training planes.
