While certainly not a new issue, it is understood by most that the global environment is in crisis thanks to plenty of focus and coverage by the media. Some however choose to keep a blind eye to such a dire issue if it means it can result in a financial gain. The eastern Amazonian region of Peru, prided for its bounty of flora and fauna, is falling victim to issues of illegal logging and deforestation.

The tourists may be well-intentioned. But that doesn't mean the photos they're taking of the Mashco-Piro people in a Peruvian forest, near the Brazilian border, are a good idea.

The tourists' images - which document people living in voluntary isolation, cut off from the rest of the world - are arriving at a worrisome rate at Survival International, according to the advocacy group's Peru campaigner, Rebecca Spooner.
