The study, which was published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in the U.S., looked at 50 projects around the world that have faced community opposition.

Peru is home to over three hundred different types of ajs and just about every dish contains some form of the chili (except the desserts, of course!). It seems strange how much of a difference something as small as a coffee can make. But the thinking behind the Suspended Coffees initiative is that small things can make a big difference.
It's simple: in any participating caf, you just add an extra coffee (or something else) onto your order, to get held back for someone who needs it. According to the Suspended Coffees website, the initiative is great for several reasons: it's simple, it's direct - you know where your money's going - and you're supporting a local business as well as someone in need.

Tourism

Tourist spots located along the main Peruvian regions are expected to draw more than 3.5 million foreign visitors this year, according the Andean nation's Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur).

Celebrating nature and Peru's cultural heritage is central to the ethos of eco-tourism company Inkaterra, so the despacho is a fitting activity to offer guests at their Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel in Aguas Calientes, where I'm staying. Some even use it to renew wedding vows.
