Peru's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to have expanded by around 6 percent in March this year, said on Tuesday Luis Miguel Castilla, Peruvian Economy and Finance Minister.

 Peru's central bank slashed its forecast for this year's economic expansion to 5.5 percent from its previous estimate of 6 percent because mining activity will likely be weaker than expected, the bank's president said late on Tuesday.

Investors interested in the contract to build and manage Cuzco's Chinchero International Airport have until the 15 June to place their bids.
The concession involves designing, building, financing and operating the airport under a 30-year contract, according to Giancarlo Villafranqui, legal adviser at ProInversi�n.
The airport will require an investment of $379 million.

Three consortiums submitted their technical and economic bids for Peru's US$658mn Cusco airport concession, according to a release from private investment promotion agency ProInversi�n.
There were seven prequalified consortiums, although ProInversi�n did not release their names. The three that submitted bids are the Kuntur Wasi consortium comprised of Argentine firm Corporaci�n Am�rica and local company Andino Investment Holding; the Aeroportuario Imperial consortium made up of Colombia's Grupo Odinsa and Mota Engil Per�; and the Aeropuerto Chinchero consortium consisting of France's Vinci Airport and Vinci Concessions and Peru's Gra�a y Montero.

Local and international scientists will be meeting in Lima next week for a workshop on health in climate change, as well as water and air pollution.
The three-day workshop is being organized by the Cayetano Heredia University and will kick off on April 27 with a lecture by Dr. Kyle Steenland, a professor of environmental health epidemiology at Emory University.

Chilean telco Entel has revealed that it intends to invest USD200 million annually in its Peruvian operations over the next three years.
