Dear Friends of Yael

Diane Mintz is preparing a collection of memories, anecdotes, reminiscences of all kinds so that Jonathan and Ethan will have a collection of these to get to know the Yael you knew. And, with your contributions, we will prepare a book so that Jonathan and Ethan's children and grandchildren may get to know the wonderful woman who was their Mother/Grandmother/Great-Grandmother. These memories can be anything that is meaningful to you - shared time or experiences, how Yael touched your life, what she meant to you, what you loved about her.

Here are the guidelines for sending the reminiscences:

 -No larger than 8.5 x 11 paper
-It must lay flat (it can't prevent a book from closing completely)
-Everything must be single sided,  even if more than one page, just write on one side
Please email to: diane.mintz@gmail.com
OR send to:
Diane Mintz, 1457 Cornell Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94702

Food Bank of Contra Costa
Hunger is year-round battle. A reminder that we have a collection barrel in our lobby which is regularly picked up for distribution for those in need in our community.

Yahrzeit Candles
In our tradition, we say of loved ones who have died, "May their memory be a blessing" and mark this ongoing process of turning memory into blessing by lighting a yahrzeit candle and reciting the Mourner's Kaddish on the anniversary of their death. We will send you a reminder card two weeks before the anniversary of your loved one's passing and hope that you will consider attending Shabbat services to honor their memory.

A yahrzeit candle is available for you to pick up at the Beth Chaim office at no charge for your observance.

Thank you to Judith Markowitz and Glen Schabacker for underwriting the Yahrzeit program.
