Welcome
Rabbi Elisheva Salamo!

The Beit Midrash is delighted to announce that we have hired a new Principal and B'nei Mitzvah Coordinator. Rabbi Elisheva Salamo brings to Beth Chaim a wide variety of experience - as a pulpit rabbi, B'nei Mitzvah mentor, and religious school teacher.

A San Francisco native, Rabbi Elisheva began her career as a cellular biologist, but after moving back to California she became more involved in leadership within the Jewish community, which led her to be ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.

Especially drawn to interfaith work, Rabbi Elisheva serves on the board of the Silicon Valley Interreligious Council, is part of the Marin Interfaith Council's ongoing discussion group of Jewish and Presbyterian leaders, and taught about Judaism to Catholic high school students as part of the American Jewish Committee's reciprocity program. She has been honored to serve congregations in Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and California. Her passions include salt water aquaria, needlework and textiles, tango, and baking. The greatest blessings in her life are her beloved daughter, Amalya (11), and mother, Becky.

Rabbi Elisheva has known Rabbi Dan professionally for several years, and is looking forward to collaborating with him, meeting our students and families, and bringing her passion for Judaism and her creativity to all aspects of youth-centered synagogue life.  She begins her new position on Monday, August 3rd.

Please introduce yourself to Rabbi Elisheva when you see her at the synagogue, and join us in warmly welcoming her to the Beth Chaim community.
