MILESTONES

YAHRZEIT CANDLES
In our tradition, we say of loved ones who have died, "May their memory be a blessing" and mark this ongoing process of turning memory into blessing by lighting a yahrzeit candle and reciting the Mourner's Kaddish on the anniversary of their death. We will send you a reminder card two weeks before the anniversary of your loved one's passing and hope that you will consider attending Shabbat services to honor their memory.

A yahrzeit candle is available for you to pick up at the Beth Chaim office at no charge for your observance.

Thank you to Judith Markowitz and Glen Schabacker for underwriting the Yahrzeit program.

IN OUR GARDEN

June was a blur and July is already here. The garden is still slowly growing. We've been able to harvest a little bit - some turnips, a few tomatoes, a couple of sweet strawberries and some squash. But, it's clear that spot fertilizing isn't enough and that the soil needs some help. By this time of year, the plants should be lush and large.

If you'd like to help in Our Garden but don't have the time, please consider a donation. Your donation of just a few dollars (each bag of fertilizer is about $11) will help towards the purchase of soil rich in worm castings, additional compost materials, bat guano and kelp meal. Mmmmm ... good! That's a recipe for successful growing. Use the PayPal link below or send to the office with "Garden" in the memo to donate.

Stay tunes for the latest video update coming soon.

Until next time ... Mary Jo
